Furinkazan

After Moon Child aired and years passed after its debut release, it was doubtful that Gackt would star in any more movies. He's obviously very busy with his work and a three year break from acting could be hinting to something. But, in January 2007 a television drama aired called Furinkazan and Gackt starred as Uesegi Kenshin, one of the main characters. Here are some small facts of the drama from Wikipedia:

The four characters from left to right are wind, forest, fire, and mountain. The title is a reference to the war banner used by Takeda Shingen, which in turn was taken from Sun Tzu's The Art of War. It means "Swift as the Wind, Silent as a Forest, Fierce as Fire and Immovable as a Mountain."

Like many of the previous Taiga dramas, Furin Kazan deals with the Sengoku period. Based on Yasushi Inoue's novel by the same title, it depicts the life of Yamamoto Kansuke who is known as one of Takeda Shingen's renowned strategists.
Obviously, it's a drama that focuses on Japan's history, that's basically what a Taiga drama is. I remember in World History class of my 11th grade year, I did a project on Japanese Samurai, and I noted in my project that Uesegi Kenshin was one of Japan's most famous samurai. Some people say that the main character of Rurouni Kenshin was named after him. I'm really happy that Gackt played such an influential person in history in this drama. Granted, I have never watched the drama, but I am sure because Gackt is who he is, he acted wonderfully.
