SitelyHistoryThere isn't really much history on the site, but there is a lot of history leading up to it. I started being a huge fan of Gackt in 2003 after buying his Crescent album. He's a completely amazing singer with a stunning voice which is followed by wonderful music. When I found out about fanlistings in 2004, I wanted to own Gackt's fanlisting right away but was unfortunate to find out he already had a fanlisting, two in fact. Well, I still showed my support to Gackt by joining the fanlistings and donating codes to the fanlistings.One of the Gackt's fanlisting shut down around late 2006 and early 2007, but I still didn't have a chance to apply to own it because there was stil another one there. Around early Summer 2007, Julia Drusilla, the original owner put up an adoption post saying that she was adopting out all her fanlistings. I was so excited when I saw that, because I knew her as the owner for Gackt's fanlisting, but she said that you either have to adopt all the fanlistings or none of them, and I really can't handle adopting 80+ fanlistings at one time and getting them up by a deadline. A group of fanlisting owners adopted all the fanlistings, and in August 2007 they put up a post adopting out the fanlistings that they really weren't fans out. Exciting for me, I saw that they were putting up Gackt's fanlisting for adoption and I was dead for like two days. Not literally of course. Well, I wrote up my application and sent it to them. I gotta admit, the application I wrote to adopt Gackt's fanlisting was probably the longest fanlisting application I ever wrote, and I poured my heart out in it. Lucky for me, they were convinced that I am one of Gackt's biggest fans, and they let me adopt the fanlisting and that's how this site came to be! I really want to make a huge fansite for him, but I don't think that would be fair to my host as she is hosting all my fanlistings, and I don't want to take up too much space on her server. Maybe if ever in the future I get my own domain, I'll be able to expand this site into a large Gackt fansite. :) Until then, enjoy what you see here at My Dears! The Name, My DearsThe name of this fansite is terribly unoriginal, but it fits Gackt perfectly. "Dears" is what Gackt calls his fanbase, and I'm guessing that when he addresses his fans he says "My Dears" instead of "My Fans." I would've just named it "Dears", but that's too short and adding the "My" just seemed like the right choice. Like I said, it's terribly unoriginal, but that's what I am when it comes to site titles.The LayoutThe only thing I could say when I finished this layout was, "Oh my gosh." And then I took an exasperated breath. I was on the longest layout block when I designed this layout, and I must've made about three different layouts for the site and deleted all those three before coming up with the one that is here now. I wanted to do something different than what I usually do with my layouts, so I made everything align to the right (I usually always do it to the left), and I made the background repeat horizontally in comparison to vertically. I also did that random image thing appear at every different page, because I like doing that and it makes the layout look more neat. The layout is also darker than what most of my layouts are like, and I'm proud I could make a more different layout from my usual. If I ever make a new layout for the site, which probably won't happen, hopefully I can try something more different like entire tables layouts. *shudders*The whole layout was designed in Adobe Photoshop and coded in Notepad. All the small images you see were cropped and edited in Jasc Paint Shop Pro. Images were taken from various sources around the internet. I hope all you visitors enjoy the layout! :D The WebmistressYou don't really need to know anything about me, I ain't that special. But, that's just me not wanting to tell everyone about me, or else I'll be rambling on what I like, love, hate and so on and so forth. My name is Daisy and I'm currently in a state of senioritis where I don't want to do any work in school and beyond. I love, love, love Gackt and I love him for getting me into the wonderful Japanese music community, and the music community altogether. Hopefully, I'll get to meet him some day and thank him in person (and pass out while I'm at it XD).
